WITE Revision 1.16 Release Notes

New Features

  • Full support of Guzik RWA-1632 including
  • PRML Clock Recovery (PR4, EPR4, E2PR4) up to 320 Mbits/Sec.
  • 24 tap Analog Equalizer.
  • Sequenced Amplitude Margin Test with Viterbi algorithm implemented in DSP.
  • The new function is added to adjust equalizer using partial histograms.
  • The "Cancel" button was added to most of the error messages. If error occurs during the test, then pressing "Cancel" requests the test to abort.
  • New functions are added to WITE Development Kit (WTMPL module) to provide PRML support.
  • Read/Write offset is now available in 747 tests.
  • The lower limit of working RPM was dropped to 100 RPM (Software limitation. Spinstand limitation might be more restrictive).

Bugs Fixed

  1. If Read/Write offset was set to a negative value, an attempt to start Parametric test caused "General Protection Fault" error.
  2. Read/Write offset (if enabled) was lost after band erase operation.
  3. WITE being started from Operator Panel with non-"Peak Detection" pattern crashed the system.
  4. Operation "Database Update" didn't perform properly if Grade table had more than 40 records.
  5. If two databases both had tables with the same name and system configuration was changed (for example a new zone or setup was created), only one table was updated. As a result 747 tests didn't work in multizone or multisetup environment.
  6. During WITE initialization the last pattern from pattern file was always selected. This caused "Precomp not calibrated" error message if precomp had not been calibrated and this pattern required precomp. Now "HF" pattern is selected automatically. If there is no "HF" pattern in the specified pattern file, than the last pattern with "enbprec 0" (precomp not required) flag is selected.
  7. In Pulse Profile Test, with PSA board, the analog delay option ("Short"/"Long") was always set to "Long".
  8. Limits for bitcell period in 747 Comparator error test were incorrect. Foe example, the lower limit for RWA 1601 was 6.25 ns instead of 3.125 ns.
  9. WITEExecutetest function in WTMPL module returned control to calling procedure immediately after test started. In case of nested test calls this caused an error. Now the new procedure is added to prevent parallel execution of external tests.
