New Hardware Supported

  • SSI4910A and SSI4802 PRML chips
  • TDA5151, TDA5155, PCA4005, PCA4006 and IBM 36MR04B0C0 head amplifiers

 

New Features

  • Offset operations in Guzik Spinstands are now faster (more than 4 times faster in 312MP). This change improves testing time for Track Profile and Write/Read offset tests.
  • Chip Parameter Optimization Test has been added to WPROF external module (see "Tests"/"Composite tests"). The test determines optimal value for selected parameter of PRML chip. Simultaneous optimization of two parameters is also available.
  • PRML Automatic Equalization is now implemented for Guzik Clock Recovery patterns in RWA1632 machine. (see "Calibration"/"AutoEqualize"). The procedure selects the appropriate filter in main filter matrix and performs signal reshaping based on PulseProfile.
  • New patterns for peak detection channel allow to write signal up to 320 Mflux and perform parametric and overwrite measurements. See HFPRM.PDL pattern file.
  • Frequency limit in NLTS Spectral Elimination test is extended from 160 to 320 Mflux.
  • EEPR4 1:7 Clock Recovery patterns no longer require High Frequency Pattern Generator.
  • New 'Set RPM' Test allows users to change RPM dynamically in each zone (see "Tests"/"Composite tests").
  • New Write/Read Offset test has been implemented as a replacement for former "Write/Read offset hook". (Test module new name: WROFFSET.EXE). New features are: pattern selection, threshold for more accurate calculation of track center, round-trip profile option, disabling gain adjustment option, etc.
  • New test has been added: Monitor Production (see "Tests"/"Production"). This test runs the same production sequence as Production test, but outputs results into Monitor Database instead of History Database.
  • Operator's identification entered in Operator Panel is now saved between WITE sessions.
  • New option in Production test: auto-increment of head serial number can be enabled.
  • Track Profile test setup allows users to disable backward profile in order to save test time.
  • Unloading radius and unloading RPM can now be specified for Guzik spinstands in WDCP program. (see "Configure"/"Device"/"Run Alignment Program").
  • The frequency for write current calibration can now be specified in "Calibration"/"Current" menu.
  • Resolution Delta test now reports the resolution itself in addition to resolution delta. 

 

Bugs Fixed

  • If a zone contained several setups then in Production Test setup "Zone enabled" checkbox was not saved/restored correctly for this zone.
  • WSCAN module: if retry is enabled and amplitude error is enabled and amplitude error occurred during retry, then sometimes this message appeared: "Error 16: No error registered by error file."
  • WSCAN module (engineering scanning): Wrong head list was generated in 3 modes: "random", "range" and "current". This resulted in intermittent error messages during engineering scanning.
  • Continuos Write Flux button in Dashboard provided write operation once every 10th revolution (approximately).
