On RWA1632 machine Pulse Profile test gives an error message "DSP timeout" if RPM
Solution.
Decrease ReadGate. Read Gate = 75% or less must work fine.
History.
All WITE versions which support RWA1632 have this bug.
Problem.
NLTS pseudorandom test is using the filter from "Control"/"Filter" menu, not from test setup.
Solution.
Choose proper filter in "Control"/"Filter" menu before running this test.
History.
All previous WNLTS versions have this bug.
Problem.
If extended (*.EPT) pattern file is corrupted, then an attempt to load this file causes system crash.
Solution.
Do not try to reload *.EPT pattern if there was a compilation error while compiling from *.PDL
source.
History.
All previous WITE versions might demonstrate the same behavior.
Problem.
If absolute path for pattern file is specified in "Configure"/"System" menu, then an attempt to load
pattern editor causes error message.
Solution.
Copy pattern file to your product directory and specify just the filename without path in
"Configure"/"System" menu.
History.
WITE versions staring from 1.14 have this bug.
Problem.
After recompiling of extended pattern inside WITE (thru "System"/"Run Pattern Editor" command)
and exiting pattern editor newly compiled pattern is not reloaded.
Solution.
Reload pattern explicitly (use "System"/"Reload Pattern File" command).
History.
All WITE versions with extended pattern editor have this bug.
Problem.
Error message box has now "OK" and "Cancel" buttons. If error happened outside the running test
(say, after pressing "Start" or "Write" buttons in WITE Dashboard), and user pressed a "Cancel"
button, then all subsequent error messages will be hidden until some test will be started.
Solution.
Use "Cancel" button in error message box only when error happend during the test, big "Abort"
button is displayed in WITE Dashboard and you are going to abort the test. In that case "Cancel" is
equivalent to "OK" plus "Abort" in Dashboard. Use "OK" in error message box in all other cases.
History.
This bug happens only in version 1.16, because only this version has "Cancel" button in error
message box.
Problem.
Comparator error rate test doesn't recognize EPR4 patterns as PRML patterns. Message "non
PRML pattern" is produced.
Solution.
This problem will be fixed in next WITE release.
History.
All WITE versions which allow EPR4 have this bug.
Problem.
Opening equalizer menu under "Control"/"Equalizer" always resets equalizer taps from database.
(Standard behaviour of other "Control" menus - the last hardware setting remains the same until user
will press "Save" or "Reset" button.)
Solution.
1. Save any new equalizer setup in database before closing the form - otherwise it will be lost.
2. During equalizer adjustment in "Control"/"Sample Value Distribution" menu keep equalizer form
opened and save new equalizer setup after adjustment.
History.
All WITE versions with equalizer menu have this bug.
Problem.
"Calibration"/"ADC delay" menu allows to specify the delay much bigger than PRML clock period.
Unfortunately, such delay is not allowed by hardware, and it might actually disable PRML clocks
completely. Visible result: Sample Value Distribution plot remains unchanged after pressing
"Refresh" button.
Solution.
If you are changing ADC delay manually, try to keep it smaller than PRML clock period (PRML
clock period equals two BitCell periods from "Control"/"Clock" menu). If you have a problem with
delay calibration, try to set "1 ns" delay manually and then run calibration one more time.
History.
All WITE versions have this bug.
Problem.
During installation of WPRML, W747 and WGMA software under Windows 95 the following
message is displayed: "Warning - Can not copy file DDEML.DL_ since the destination file is already
in use".
Solution.
Ignore this message and just press "OK" button.
History.
All WITE versions have this bug.
Problem.
Attempt to run Frequency Test with frequencies bigger than 160 MFlux on RWA1632/RWA1601
with High Frequency Pattern Generator causes an error "DPRT: ambiguous write".
Solution.
This problem will be fixed in next release.
History.
All WITE versions which support High Frequency Pattern Generator have this bug.
Problem.
During Comparator Error Test with pattern = PCTR (or any other pattern involving chip digital
channel) and write option = PATTERN writing thru PRML chip frequently fails, which causes huge
number of comparator errors.
Solution.
This problem will be fixed in next release. Partial solution is to write PCTR pattern before the test
and set write option to NONE in test setup.
History.
All WITE versions which support PRML chip have this bug.
