Release Notes

WITE32TM

Version 2.24

6/1/99

Introduction

The 2.24 release introduces a new feature and fixes bugs found in the WITE32 2.23 release. (This document uses the WITE32 2.23 revision as a base line for comparison.)

New Features

For all RWA-2550 systems, Control | System | Quick Charge option if set to "Auto" will mean the same as "On." (In 1601 systems the "Auto" still means "Off" when the Flux frequency is below 50 Mflux and "On" otherwise).

Fixed Bugs

The following bugs have been fixed:

    • Missing or mixed-up grading results were displayed when two or more heads were used in a production test with multiple setups.

      NOW: Correct results are displayed.
    • ENTER key must be pressed for a table to accept an entry.

NOW: You do not need to press the ENTER key for an entry to be accepted.
    • Production Test with Normalization enabled may sometimes complain that,

      Normalization>Missing Coefficients…

although all the coefficients are present. (Found in 2.23)

NOW: Production Test does not complain about missing normalization coefficients if they are all present.
    • In WROffset test, no result is reported in both engineering and production mode if the test fails. (Found in 2.23)

NOW: Results will always be displayed after running WROffset test.
    • Viewing Production Configuration using "File | View Configuration" may cause the following error messages,

WRseult>Failed to load a grid layout (Automation error)
WResult> Failed to save a grid layout (Permission denied)

All subsequent runs of production or engineering tests will result in the second of the above errors when closing the result window. (found in 2.23)

NOW: No more error message after viewing configuration.
    • Control | ScopePoint Scope Point 4 is not displayed in Edit Mode. (found in 2.15)

NOW: The Scope Point 4 is available.
    • Selecting one out of two or more grade names results in an error message:

      "WGrade>Duplicate Grade name: ‘grade name."

NOW: No error message. (found in 2.22)
    • Renaming a grade name to the same name results in an error message:

      "WGrade>Duplicate Grade name: ‘grade name."

NOW: No error message. (found in 2.22)
    • Duplicate parameters are displayed in the configuration section of the result window in GMA tests. (found in 2.23)

NOW: Unique set of parameters is displayed.
    • Installing WGrade.EXE or WNorm.EXE crashes WITE32

NOW: Installing these modules results in proper error messages and does not crash WITE32. However, users should never need to install these modules because WITE32 automatically installs them upon initialization.

Known Bugs

Guzik Technical Enterprises is actively working to solve known bugs. If you encounter a problem not on this list, please report it to Guzik customer support at Support@Guzik.com.

    • Importing a product to replace a "Protected reference" product will cause this (originally protected) product to be unprotected.

The workaround is to check the "Protected Reference" checkbox again. (found in 2.21)
    • Installing a module twice will disconnect the module completely (found in 2.22).

The workaround is to shutdown and restart WITE32. If it is possible, never install a module twice. In particular, never install WNorm.exe, WGrade.exe, WResult.exe, and WControl.exe—these modules are installed automatically by WITE32.
    • Closing a plot window before the test has completed plotting makes WITE32 hang until the test is aborted. (found in 2.22)

The workaround is to abort the test first and then close the plot window. Do not assume that you can close a plot window while a test is plotting.
    • When user specifies an output file name with a different extension other than WEX, the common dialog box will append WEX as the file extension to it.

The workaround is to choose "All (*.*)" to be the filter ("Save as type").
