WITE98 beta-3
Introduction
This document contains the release notes for WITE98 beta-3 revision from Guzik Technical Enterprises.
All discussion of features and bugs in this document uses WITE98 beta-2 as a baseline for comparison. Please refer to the WITE98-related documents available on Guzik Web-site: ‘www.guzik.com’.
New features in WITE98 beta-3
Support for new hardware configurations
- RWA2550++(rev.A) is fully supported in WITE98 beta-3
- Support for new hardware revision of UP7 has been added.
- Support for the 20000 RPM Guzik spinstands has been added.
Support for new head amplifiers and head stacks
The following Head Amplifiers and Head Stacks are supported in WITE98 beta-3.

Other changes.
- Support for separate revision of extender board for mirror machine has been added.
- UP7 default attenuator position has been changed from 0(13db) to 2(5db).
- The ‘write’ operation during ‘Gain Adjust’ procedure has been removed.
- General performance of RWA2550++ has been improved due to software optimization
Bugs fixed in WITE98 beta-3
- Due to removable amplifiers powering off its EEPROM was not being read properly for particular amplifiers causing error messages during initialization, start/stop device procedure. Occasionally amplifier parameters were being handled incorrectly. The problem has been fixed in WITE98 beta-3.
- First 10 lines with Head S/N, Pass/Fail, Grade ... etc. were missing in ASCII output. The problem has been fixed in WITE98 beta-3.
Known Bugs in WITE98 beta-3
Some bugs were found too late to be fixed for this release and will be fixed in a later release. This section contains all known bugs that you are likely to encounter. A bug’s presence here means that we are aware of the problem and actively working to solve it. If you encounter a problem not on this list, please report it to Guzik customer support.
- Jogging procedure for 312MPCF, 312MP as well as for 1701 does not work. (When one attempts to press JOG IN or JOG OUT buttons the error message "Illegal function call…" appears.) This bug will be fixed in the next version. In case you encounter this problem, you can contact Guzik customer support to obtain the patch resolving the issue.
